A former talent agent with over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, Ryan Ly most recently served four years as an equity partner and head of the television literary department with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). In this capacity, Ryan Ly led a team of 18 scripted television agents who combined to produce agency-best results in booking work for directors, producers, and writers on the staffs of various television series. He also personally represented over 50 clients and procured the sale of multiple award-winning television series, including Making A Murderer and Good Girls’ Revolt.
As an agent, and part of management, in the television ldepartment, Ryan Ly led efforts to sign creative talent on prominent shows such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. He also helped develop CAA’s agent training program as well as its diversity and inclusion efforts. Mr. Ly joined the agency as an agent trainee in 2005 after earning a bachelor’s degree in English and film studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2013, Ryan Ly accepted a leadership role as head of the television literary department for CAA. In this position, he guided a team of 18 agents working in the scripted television sector while supervising all daily operations of the department. During this time, he also led the sale of successful shows such as Better Call Saul and Making a Murderer. Under his direction, the department placed hundreds of clients in acting, directing, and producing roles on prominent network shows and generated millions of dollars in fees for CAA.
Currently, Ryan Ly serves as principal of Curate Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based entertainment and media company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and film studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

After three years as an agent trainee in CAA’s Television Department, Ryan Ly was promoted to a television literary and packaging agent in the agency’s Television Literary Department in 2008. In 2013, he distinguished himself as the youngest professional in CAA’s history to become a partner and department head. During the four years he led the Television Literary Department, Mr. Ly oversaw the daily operation of 18 agents working in the company’s New York, Los Angeles, and London offices.
